Just got my 08 earlier this month, it's the first truck I've had that was covered by warranty. Just wondering if I have to keep it serviced by the dealer to maintain the warranty? Or do only certain things need to be done by them? I've always done my own fluid and filter changes because I'm particular and I like to be "acquainted" with my truck so if something looks "out of place" I can catch it. Thanks for any advice.

You can do it yourself or have any shop do the work. If you do need warranty work and questioned how it has been maintained you may have to show proof of everything you have done and show you followed their schedule with equivilent fluids, filters, etc. By law the maunfacture can not require you to use the dealer unless they are willing to pay for the service themselves.

Be wary of their "recommended" service. The last time I was in they had a list of over $4000 that they wanted to do. As I said, the LAST time I was there.
