Want to do a 6,500 mi. service, Should I buy parts??
 

Hey everybody, My truck just turned 1 yr old, and I only put 6,200 miles on her. I want to do a service to her a little earlier than the 7,500 mi. because she's been through alot of city stop and go.

I want to do an oil change, fuel filter change, grease front end and that fitting in the front shaft, and also put in a high flow drop in air filter and rotate my tires. I'm gonna bring it to a dealer, and I know they charge triple for the filters than if I was to buy them myself.

Ive seen alot of people are happy with Geno's prices, but Im going on a camping trip in a few days, and don't know If I'll get the parts in time. I was thinking of going to my local Cummin's dealer, only about a 20 min ride from my house.

Any help or reccomendations will be greatly appreciated! :cool:

check with your dealer first if they will let you supply the parts, then if you can watch what they are doing as sometimes parts will go missing(exchanged). Take the time and do it yourself if you have the space and tools it's not that hard to do.

To do it myself is not an option for having a minor procedure done on my lower back :( , so crawling under my truck and doing these things are the last thing I want and can do.

that's a bummer; anyway just check with dealer first, no need to spend money if they don't let you supply parts.
