Uneven Brake Wear Help!!!!
Hi Guys And Gals, been Awhile Since I've Posted, truck Has Run Great ! So Anyways Bought My Truck New In 03, Have 43000 Mile On Her,tow Maybe 8000 Lb Trailer In The Northwest Washington, oregon. Heres My Problem. Front Brake Pads On Passenger Side Are Worn To Just About A 1/16 Of An Inch And The Drivers Side Brakes Has About Half The Pad Life Left What Gives? Truck Does Not Pull Or Surge, stops On A Dime,no Warping, You Guys Have Been Alot Help In The Past Thanks
Lube caliper slides and also where the pad rides. Are the pass side pads both even? May be a hose collapsing. Sometimes in a truck it is hard to notice the drag. Drive it until the brakes are fairly hot, then jack up the front end and compare rotating resistance on both wheels. If it is worse on one side, open that bleeder. If it gets easier to turn, 9 times out of ten it is a hose. Otherwise just lube everything up and replace the pads.
