under bed aux tank????
under bed aux tank????
I want to put an additional fuel tank under my bed. with a pump that I can switch on to transfer fuel to my stock tank. I had ford PU in the 70s & 80's that had duel tanks. I don't want to pay 41300 for a titan and have all that weight on one siode of the truck.
Anybody done this????
Could I get a used one and install it on the other side of the truck??

Are you wanting to get a used factory tank to mount on the other side? I would think it is possible if there is room but I bet the exhaust will be your biggest problem.
On my 1st gen Cummins I installed a 2nd tank from a Ramcharger that went where the spare tire is. It was pretty easy as a 1st gen truck's frame is similar to a Ramcharger.
I'm guessing that if you can fab up some cross-members it wouldn't be too hard to put in a tank from a Ramcharger. Or even a Blazer/Bronco or anything else that had a tank behind the axle.
Wiring/plumbing it so that it works just like a second tank is much nicer than having it pump into the main tank and isn't all that much more work.

Talk to http://www.aerotanks.com/. They can custom make what you need. I plan to do something along the same lines...
