I love the smoother, quiter ride of the Dodge and I don't get fatiged driving it like I did the Ford.
I am hoping that the 06' and 07' Dodges are the " last year of the good ones". That is the biggest reason I bought mine, because I new that Cummins was changing to the 6.7L and I wanted a tried and true 5.9L. Good luck with yours and again welcome to the family.
The last of the good ones was 99 and 00, when they still had the forged rods. I got rid of my 99 7.3 in favor of my 03. I wanted better mileage, and a truck that wasn't going to cost a billion dollars to get 400, 500+ horsepower out of. I accomplished both of those goals. I like how the Ford guys still try to claim their truck is better built. When it comes right down to it, my 03 is right on par if not better than what my 99 was. I can't speak for the 05+ trucks though. I think the 03/04 CTD was the best of the CR's because of the lack of a 3rd injection event, and catalytic converters...In just over one years time I have only gotten one tank average less than 20 mpg, and that was at 19.5 or so. I still get outstanding mileage after the mods I have done, I won't be selling this truck anytime soon.

I recentley made the switch from ford to dodge. I definately miss the cab room, but the way it pulls makes up for it. Go with the Prodigy brake controller, I think the other guys will agree.
