Can everyone post up some pictures of what tires they have. I am going to buy some new ones in about a week or so. My question is, can you fit 305's on without having a leveling kit? Or is 295 the best you can do.

LETS CHECK OUT THESE PICS! [guitar]

We need to know what year truck you have.

Fill out your signature so you don't have to do it twice.

You might try filling out your sig so everybody knows what you are putting the tires on.

I have read some people say they can fit 305's on the 3rd Gens with only slight rubbing and no leveling kit and some say they must use a leveling kit to fit the 305's. I sure someone will chime in with better advice though.

It depends on the tire some 295s are taller than 305s for instance the bfg 305 65 17 is only 1 tenth of an inch taller than the 285 70 17 but a lot wider and the 295 70 17 nitto is like 33.6 tall all depends on what look you want short and squatty or tall and thin remember the second # in the tire size is what makes the heighth so many people for get that the first # is the width the second is the % of the width that says how tall the sidwall is from bead to tread.

Being said I ran my h2s for quite a while befor I leveld with very minimal rubbing and they are 34.5 tall just over 12 wide

I ran 35x12.50 BFG M/T's on the stock wheels with no leveling kit and I only had a rubbing issue at full lock. Installed some Daystar's and problem solved.

I have 315's on mine, and while it will rub at full lock, I don't care.

I will assume 4 wheel drive right???? That will make a difference!!!! I run 33-12.5-17 Pro Comps-----equal to a 285 tire and they dont even come close to rubbing with no lift!

yeah it is 4x4. in my opinion the 285's just dont look beefy enough.

I will be moving up to the new 305/65/17E BFG ATs when these wear out.
285s don't look as beefy at 315s but they are a big improvement over the stockers without a big MPG loss.

If you have a stick go as tall as you can because they make the truck so much more driveable from what I have heard to much heighth is not so good for the Autos so pending on what kind of look you want that will tell us what tire to recomend

If you have an auto and do not need them real aggresive get the 305 65 17 Bfg all terrain kinda fat lookin but not any taller than a285 70 17

Some guys have had success with the 295 70 17 Toyo but Schwab is very proud of them a more aggressive 305 is actually the procomp 33 12.5 it really is not 33 tall bout the same as the bfg above pro comp has several choices sta away from the xterrain nothin good has been said for them

with a stick get it leveled and get some 315s or 35s lots of choices there

I have the 315/70/17 BFG AT's, they did not rub before the KORE HD Leveling kit was installed. Nice tire, got my rpm's down at highway speeds with the 6-speed.
