I've owned both the at and the mt bfgs they both lasted about 40,000 miles, but they weren't on a 7000lb Diesel. If your gonna do any type of off roading get the mts , if your gonna spend most of your time on the pavement get the ats because the mileage isn't as good with the mts. The ats are not good in mud they are good in snow and sand. The mts are good in mud and sand not so good in wet highway or city driving. I'm in process of replacing my allterrains with the mud terrains because the ats are notorious for catching small gravel and rocks and spitting them out when you speed up which usually ends up in a ding or paint chip in your truck fender. Either way I'd recommend either ones.

I've got almost 14k on truck and 7k on the 315's...Make sure you rotate them every 5-6k miles to make them last.

I've got 20,000 on my ATs, and it looks as though they will go at least that much more, maybe even closer to 50,000.

Only complaint I've had is a small hole in the sidewalls of two of the tires. Didn't hit a curb, so don't know how they got there. I don't think it's a danger so will just keep trucking and hope for 50,000 miles. Next set of tires will be bigger however, because I think they would look better on my truck.

I got 53,000 out of a set of 285/75/16 BFG ATs on a 1500 that weighed 6,000 with me in it.

alltork is right on about terrible in the mud and pebbles flying all over your paint at high speeds. the at's on my truck are wearing terribly, i've got 12000 miles and they wont make it to 20000! i will be replacing them asap w/ either bfg mt's or procomp mt's. the procomps are very good, i've had 33-1250-17 and 35-1250-17. i was very pleased w/ tire wear, quality, and ride. they are cheaper than the bfg's but they dont look near as good, no wrapparound tread like the bfg's.

I have put 50-60k on both BFG AT's and MT's. Both great tires...only two I will put on the truck. One should be a little better fit for your driving habits/location.

will 285s or higher affect fuel milage compared to stock? and does it really cost around $90 to reflash computer to keep speedometer accurate?

Jmac,

My 315s cost me about 1.5 MPG compared to the stock 265s. The speedo fix (reset pinion factor) was done for free, but it took a little looking around as you can read on earlier posts.
