Tire wear

Michelin, Goodyear and BFG seem to be the tires of choice that dodge is putting on at the factory. How are your tires holding up??

I just traded an 0-3 for a new 0-3 and my first one had Michelins with 15,000 miles on them. I gauged them with the new ones and I would say they were approximately 20% worn.

I was happy with that. And, the new truck has the same tires.

What kind of tire wear are you guys getting??

Re:Tire wear

I have the B F Goodrich with 27K miles, which I just rotated. I compared them to my son-in-laws new truck, same tires, and have about 50% tread gone.

These tires are sure better than the Wranglers that were on previous Dodge trucks I have purchased new. Tread wear and wet weather handling is much better.

I might add that about 9K miles is towing my 12K lb. 5'er.

Re:Tire wear

I'm over 37,000 on the original bfgs and have about 1/3 tread left.

Re:Tire wear

My new truck came with B.F. Goodrich tires. Only complaint so far is the sidewall of one has an imperfection, and I don't know of any way to get it replaced. Called the dealer and they said there was nothing they could do. I have 7,000 miles on the tires, and can't detect any wear.

Re:Tire wear

I've got the BFG's with 19K miles on them, just had them rotated and balanced. They have 11/32 tread left on them and are wearing evenly. I even rotate the spare into the mix so that if I have to use it it won't be new and throw off the 4X4 system. I would reckomend that you do that, of course you will need to get a matching spare wheel, because DC is CHEAP and gives you a black steel spare.

Re:Tire wear

At 17.5k, my BFG's seem to be wearing just fine; and that's unfortunate, because I'm in a hurry to put on some 315's.
