Just wondering if anyone has put bigger tires on there 2WD.I just installed a 3" front 1" rear leveling/lift kit and would like to go with a 33" tire.Has anyone done this.If so what size will fit without having clearance issues. Also any tire brand recommendations my last set were cooper tires and i only got about 20000 miles on them.Thanks.And no i dont drive like a maniac.

I have a 2.5" leveling kit and air bags in the rear.I'm running 305/70/17s now without issue. I've run as large as 315/70/17s with minor contact. I don't have a lower air dam on the truck and when I've had scrubbing issues it's at full lock on the sway bar

Can also run 285/75/17's without any issues.

How much room did you have between the rear tires? I want to put bigger tires on but don't want them rubbing when loaded down. |
I've never had scrubbing in the rear, but the airbags keep the back end up when loaded heavy. Many 4x4 trucks run the 315's without issue. I've put A LOT of weight in the bed and just keep air in the bags.
I've run a number of different tire setups and the best for the truck seem to be the 305/70/17s I have now. I don't scrub at all and they seem to fit the truck well. I've run Goodyear Duratracs in a 315/70/17 and they were significantly larger than the 315/70/17 BFG ATs I took off of the truck - probably 3/4" - even when compared with new BFGs. Those were way too big. The 305's are a nice compromise without having to worry about scrubbing. 285's obviously fit fine as well (I've run this size, too) but I like as much tire as I can comfortably fit. The 2.5" leveling kit made the truck sit perfectly level. I have pictures where I measured after installation and there was no rake at all. I prefer a little rake and typically keep about 10-15 psi in my bags. |
Thanks, been looking for tires and that gives me a lot of info I was looking for.

Mine has 285 / 70 R17's now, stock wheels and stock height with no problem whatsoever.
