Time for brakes?

19,000 miles and brakes are beginning to squeek. How many miles are you getting before 1st brake job? Truck is loaded with tool boxes, about 500 lbs. 80% around town driving / 20% hi-way.
Thanks...Rick

Have you been on any dirt roads lately?

I hope it's just dust, my truck has over 21k and the brakes have a long way to go till I even consider a brake job. I tow a fair amount as well.

I wouldn't go by the sound. Take a look at the pads.

Thanks guys. I'll have to take a look. Previous truck had sensors, and when they started squeeking it meant they needed replacing.

I have 55k on my truck. Started squeaking @ 30 k . Pads are fine. Took to dealer @ 30k said these pads are very hard and prone to squeaking. Doesnt do it all the time but it is still annoying. Turn up the radio

My back brakes squeak once in a while when backing down the driveway first thing in the morning. Truck has about 29k on it.

Those sensors usually have more than just a squeak to them when they're scraping the rotors.
