Taller without going much wider is the way to go! I want more 80 series options.

 

X2 on that one. It's a great tire, but I would lke a to see 35" - 37" height but stick to the 8.5 - 9.3 width (17" rims) for winter driving.

 

Well, I sure hope so too. However, everyone already on the list will have to pepper them with our little petition before they'll deal with it. I have a feeling they've ignored my email because it's easy to ignore one mail...........not so easy to ignore 100+. I'm sending another right after typing this.

I just received a call from Pierre in the technical department. His comment was that there are no plans to build the the M-55 taller than factory in the near future. He then went on to say that if I wanted the size I was looking for, it was available in the Open Country AT & MTR. My comment was that I already have the AT and don't like them - I like the M-55, but want it in a taller size. Apparently, this concept, he could not grasp. So, I asked him to forward the email higher up the food chain. He said he would.

So, for the help, everyone on the list, please send an email to pepper the crap out of their inboxes with our requests. Heck, send multiple emails like I did. It wasn't until the third email that I finally received a response. Maybe this is what it'll take for them to realize that that are currently missing millions in sales due to the lack of a oversized tire in this model.

Toyos reply is so typical of a large corporation,controlled totaly by their marketing dept. Probably none of them even own trucks.If you could make a product slightly better and sell alot more of them and get return customers because of it,why not,too many companies still dont get it.

 

It being a market controlled company as all are,they just aren't grasping that a larger size in the M-55 would sell. It sells in the 16" size very well. I don't get it.

 

Apparently, my twisted sense of logic doesn't get it either.

We still run the factory sized M-55's on the company trucks. They're still great.

However, my G-56 in my '07 is geared low. I am spinning high RPM on the highway. My easiest fix is a taller good tire. So, even though the factory is available to me it doesn't work in application.

 

Soon I am going to need new tires and although I liked my M-55s ,I want taller/wider tires so I guess its the MTs or ATs since I like Toyos.But the M-55s tread was probably a better all season tread for me.I just dont get it,mildly agressive AT tread or overly agressive MT tread with not much to chose from in the middle???? Which is where you would think most would want to be.I have seen them once in 285 on a second gen Dodge truck (16") and they looked nice.
