Tested ABS Today.

Finally tested the ABS on my truck today. It worked really well at stopping an 8500 Lb truck. Driving down the road a lady decided that she just needed to pull out right in front of me for no reason. It's not like my truck is hard to see. I slammed on the brakes and the truck stopped surprisingly fast. After a few choice words and gestures I started thinking about how good the truck did. I am very happy. I didn't really hear the tires squeal much at all.

Always good to try out a new rig with the emergency stop test. I do it every time I get me a new vehicle, or a change in tires too, that way I know what to expect when someone pulls out and I gotta slam the binders on.

Yup, I tested my ABS too.. worked really well. Not afraid to let my truck stop me in an emergency.

I had the same situation in my PSD, with 37" tires. Scary as heck. In fact one of the pads sheared right off leaving a metal/metal situation on the rotor. I had to pull the rotor, and have my friends at the machine shop turn it before I could drive again. You gotta drive defensivly with these 7500#+ trucks.

Had to slam on the brakes the other day when a lady decided to stop her Honda @ 65mph because of a duck on the road. The truck stopped suprisingly well for how heavy it is. I was impressed!

I was always impressed with the 4 wheel ABS on my 150. When I got the boat I started warping rotors, until I put a set of power stop rotors and 911 pads on. What a difference! I'd swear I dropped >10' off my stopping distance. My brother put a set on his dakota; noticed better pedal feel and decreased stopping distance.

Oh man did I have an ABS experience today, going around a curve doing around 40 and hit some huge washboard and front axle started bouncing vilolently, would have been ok except for the 6' diameter steel power line pole I was unintentionaly now headed at. I'll just say the ABS also works good an Bermuda grass
