striking out with the oil search...
so im looking for 5w-40 rotella synthetic or 5w-40 valvoline synthetic. where do you buy yours? ive seen the mobil 1, but for $5+ a quart... no thanks. they have reg. 15w-40, but im looking to switch for the upcoming cold weather. any help would be appreciated. thanks!
I get all of my oil from the local Costco, regular rotella for my rig and mobil 1 for my wifes saturn. They have the best prices around here on oil hands down. I'm not sure if they have rotella synthetic or valvoline synthetic or not, but it's worth a look if you have one nearby.

I have used it too. (triple protection vs. the old Rotella) My UOA came back with a TBN of 5.9 vs. 9.9 after 5000 miles. Im going to retest again when I put 5000 on the Rotella Synthetic 5w40 that I just switched to. This article over on TDR doesn't rate the Triple T or any other CJ Blend very highly. http://www.turbodieselregister.com/TDR57_Oil.pdf

well found a store that carries it but after doing my homework im wondering what to run... the truck is just about to hit 60k. so do i run 15w-40 premium valvoline, 15w-40 rotella or do i get the synthetic 5w-40 rotella? decisions decisions.
I get it at NAPA. Sometimes they have to order it, but it's there the next day. Valvoline told me NAPA is an approved dealer, but not all NAPA seem to have it. Good luck, it's great stuff. Iv'e been poor lately so I blend it one gal PB Extreme to 2 gal PB. Good luck.
