It's loud if you open the windows but not too bad with them up. I just did mine last weekend and the muffler was back on yesterday morning. Way too loud for me.....

With a turndown tip it will tame it down a lot.

I have the same truck, my muffler has been gone for 4 mos. now. I love it! If the drone (which isn't that bad) gets to me, I just turn the radio up. Having the silencer ring missing and a BHAF makes the turbo sound get to me long before the no muffler drone.

And a turn down angled slightly pointed toward the back makes a big diffference.

I just ordered the ME kit from genos- is there any way to install this w/o absolutley destroying the muffler and pipes? I would like to keep it relatively in good shape- in case i ever do need to put the muffler back on.

You will need to heat the muffler to get it off.

if the drone gets to you just clamp on about an 18 inch piece of heavy angle iron

I'll tell you, with so many guys happy with taking their mufflers off and leaving the cat on (04.5 and newer trucks) it almost makes me want to find a cat that someone lost and put it on my truck! Heck, I may even get some kind of Citation from the government for doing my part to clean up the air we breath!!!

i don't think it will be bad. when i got my 95 the muffler had a broken baffle in it, so the local muffler shop chopped the whole thing off and straight-piped it. i don't think it's any louder than it was before the muffler fix, but that's just me. good luck!

Did it this morning. Nice and loud. And yes, if I see Johnny law I go a bit easier on the throttle...
I'm actually gonna buy an MBRP muffler but I can't get it for a couple weeks. I think that by then I will be used to the SP. I'll have the MBRP on stand-by though.....
