sounds like air leak or vaccum leak

06 Dodge cummins 5.9L.When the truck is running it sounds like theres a vaccum leak or air leaking, but when i push the brake it stops for a couple sceconds and same goes for when i turn the steering wheel it stops. I have replaced the booster but it still does it. It gets louder the longer i drive it.

Any suggestions on what this could be?

The manual shows something about putting vacuum on the PS cap to purge air out of the system?

Sorry I can't be more help.

When sitting in the truck it sounds like its at my feet or just under the dash. Was told it could be the Powersteering pressure house that runds from the pump to the booster. Some chrysler cars had this problem from what i was told. but cant think of how that could cause an air leaking noise. Going to replace that in a couple ours.

For 2003 trucks, Dodge had a replacement hose from the PS Pump to the hydrobooster. It had a metal crimp, and a weight mid-span to cure a buzz or vibration in the dash/pedals/wheel that happened right at 2000 rpm.

I haven't heard of a cure for an air leak kind of sound.

Anyway, welcome to the forum. Hopefully someone who's had your problem will chime in.
