What kinf od steps you guys like for lifts? I want something thats black metal. Something that mounts solid and doesnt flex like cheap crappy stepss you get at the dealers on suv's.

I love my AMP Steps, but if i had to go with a "metal tube" style step, i'd go with the N-fab.

I saw them tested by a 300 lb man... bouncing on them! Truck rocked but step didn't budge. :)

Love my nfabs. . . . .high and tight. Some folks don't care for them because they mount to the body not the frame but mine are stount and have had no issues.

I've got no issues with my N-Fabs either.

These are black powdercoated steel and mount to the frame. They will not budge. I am very happy with mine and are as strong today as when I installed them 4 years ago.

Mounting the NFabs to the cab could ruin it for me. I'd have to see them in person.

I loved the look of NFabs but I didn't like the mount and the price tag was way out of my reach. Maybe in time I'll fab a set of something.

I went with Luverne nerf bars from my local Trucker's Equipment store.

$216 OTD and they mount to the frame-body mounts.

Ive had carr hoop steps on two different trucks very solid easy to install

I like those. They mount to the frame or the body?

I've got N-fabs, the looks are pretty good. I'd like them a lot better if they mounted to the frame. They are doing fine, i'm about 300lbs, but they do flex a bit when I step on them. They were pricy, but for a lifted truck, I don't think there are anything else that looks anywhere as good. They also protect very well against door dings.

Downside to them, expensive, they are NOT powdercoated, they are just painted. N-fab claims powdercoated but they are full of crap, or got a terrible job. They are pretty scratched up from shoes (I never wear anything but running shoes in my truck), the ends of the bars are rusting, and the step part is down to bare metal, on all but the one door that is pretty much never used.

I figure i've got a 5 year warranty for the finish, when they get bad i'll get them replaced, and have a brand new set.

I just settled for N-fabs as theres just nothing better out there. Honestly just wish I left my "grandpa" looking running boards on [dummy]

I had a set of Amp Research power retractable running boards on my '07 Power Wagon and have the same set-up on my '07 3500. While pricey, they work great and tuck up out of sight when not in use (which is also great for tucking them up under the rocker panels for off-road clearance).
