Shocks for Increased On-road Comfort

Hey guys, new to DTR.
I'm looking to improve my highway ride comfort with some new shocks.
In general most people recommend the Bilstein 5100 series shocks.
What would be considered the best, middle, and low end on upgrades
for the shocks?

Thanks for the input!

Bilstein shocks are the best bang for the buck there are better shocks our there with remote reservoirs but those are better for offroad enthusiasts

I just put the bilsteins on my 06 after 41k, and would highly recommend them. If i were to buy a new dodge tomorrow, i would rip the stock junkers out and replace immediately (big difference) as with the shitty tires they put on these trucks.

Are the 5100's better or the hd shocks? Seems most went with the 5100's. I am also wondering as I may not be too far off from buying a set. I have 50k on my 06 and really do not know the condition of my stockers.

Hey honda guy, which series of bilsteins did you use? 5100s like most guys?
Thanks for the input!

I know this is not really a shock but I just put some air bags on a truck that I use for hualing sometimes and mostly highway and that thing rides like a cadillac now. once you get the air adjusted right. jmo

Hey:

The 2008 Dodge adverstises Bilstein's as OEM equipment. They said something like monotubes.

I too would like a better ride. Do you think there is a difference in the 5100's versus the stock 2008 Bilsteins?

Thanks for any replys....................

I run the Rancho RS9000's on my truck. In my opinion, the truck rides better now with the 35's and the Rancho's than it did with stock tires/stock shocks.

Powerwagons come with Bilsteins from the factory. IMO they should at least be an option on our trucks.

As an upgrade, they are the best bang for the buck.

I run the new Rancho 9000 xl's they are nice for the adjustability I can turn them up when pulling the trailer or working offroad and turn them down for long highway trips.

Are the Blisteins hard to install on an 06 ? I seem to recall there was a controversy on the installation. I might have been just not listing the 06 till lately. I was just concerned because the 06 suspension changed, I do not know to what degree . I am looking at the yellow & blue ones because I'm stock and have 43k now.
