Self induced electrical nightmare

I'm frankensteining an 04 using 08 parts dodge diesels. I pulled the dashes and swapped using the original harness. I hit 1 snag the lamp controls didn't interchange. I took the plug apart to use the 08 switch that's where I messed up. I should have adapted the plastic to meet the electrical. I did everything wrong that could be done... shorted wires accidentally, gambled on wiring since colors didn't match. I back stepped and adjusted plastic. Now I'm pretty sure I fried something important. Everything in the dash is wonky, gauge cluster goes test mode, on, half off, all off and repeat every 5 seconds, lights don't work, unless you step away from the truck. Does anyone have a schematic for an 04 and possibly insight into how the lighting system functions. Think I prefer working on my 01.

'04 and '08 electrical systems are completely different. FCM vs TIPM to start with. Without comparing all the switch pinouts and control module outputs very carefully, there would be almost no way to make those 2 compatible.
