Right Rear Running Light Inop

Got a good one for you guys, 2006 Ram 2500 completely stock I use this truck exclusively to tow my boat, I am original owner only has 33000 miles. Right rear running light does not work with light switch, no bulb out indicator and get this, the bulbs flash when I hit the key FOB.????? Any ideas? I am thinking TIPM, can't seem to find anyone else on here with a like problem. Thanks in advance for any inputs!

According to the diagram the feed from the TIPM feeds one filament in each bulb all the time that the switch is on. I bet the flashing when you lock the doors is coming from the other filament in the turn signal bulb or the other filament in the stop bulb. Check fuse 16, it is a 15 amp fuse in the TIPM.

If the fuse is good check wire number L70 it is an 18AWG wire and is white and grey. You should have power on it with the running lights on.

Thanks for the reply, turn/ brake light works fine, it is parking light filimant that flashes with key FOB, other filiment is the turn brake filiment. where would be the best place to check that wire, at the light assy itself?

Check for power at fuse number 16 first. Then see if you have it at the light. If you show voltage at the bulb, check it with a test light to pull a few amps on the circuit. One strand of wire will carry the voltage and show it on a meter but it will not carry current to light the bulb.

If you have voltage at the fuse but none at the lamp check C135 it is a flip lock connector at the back left of the engine compartment. You are looking for pin number 17. It should also have power on it with the lights on.

My bet is the TIPM is burnt out.
