Question Rear Torsion Bar

A freind recently installed a rear torsion bar on his 06, 2500. He wants to haul a slide-in camper. 1st, he installed air-bags and said it did help but not to his expectation. Then installed the torsion bar along with heavy duty rear shocks. He has said, installing the torsion bar was the best thing he has done to his truck. He also said that his truck accelerates smoother and feels more stable. This is my first dodge and I am very happy with it. I tow a 26 ft. TT that weighs about 7800 lbs. and behind it a 2 place ATV trl. I only notice sway when there is a cross wind, or when a big rig is passing me, or on ruff, uneven pavement. Is the torsion bar something I should consider?? Thanks in advance for any info.

If you are getting sway while towing the trailers, I would look into a better sway control for them, rather than a torsion bar for the truck. Unless you are hauling 2000 lbs in the bed of the truck, it won't help with towing.

Look into a Reese Dual Cam hitch or Equalizer Brand hitch which incorporate the sway control with the weight distributing.

you get sway driving straight empty towing nothing new its a dodge! let alone turning a corner and hitting a bump and jumping 3foot to one side!
