radio and CD player

I have had problems with my CD player for a good while. Every time I take it in they say they can not duplicate the problem. Many times it will not read the CD or eject it. Finally the other day I took it in and the asst service manager hit the eject button and the cd would not come out or play. When I picked it up she tells me that the cd player works and it is not showing any trouble codes. She then handed me my cd. I asked if she remembered trying it and it did not work only to be told that it was just that one time and it has worked since and shows no trouble codes so they cannot change it out. Sounds like a lot of bull to me. Do you mean to tell me that even the cd player shows trouble codes when not working right? Any comments would be appreciated.

I know some of the radios in '05 trucks had problems. I had mine replaced twice. I even had to wait for about 4-6 weeks for the CDs I had loaded to come back to me. If she saw the problem then I would instist on them replacing it. Talk to the Service Manager. If that still doesn't work, take it to another dealership.

A buddy of mine bought his wife a new 06 jeep wrangler with a lifetime warranty. Her CD player did the same thing evry few days, so they took it to the dealer hoping to get a replacement and they told him to leave it with them for a few days so they could check it out. He said he wasnt gonna leave her vehicle for a few days to fix the radio and a few other choice words and left. Its pretty bad when you spend 30k on a new jeep with a "lifetime" and cant even get the radio fixed.

The lifetime part is how long it takes to get something fixed.

Any idea if it will direct fit the single cd radio? If so, I may take it off your hands.
