Thumbs up Proud Owner of a New Dually

Many of you have been following my saga (in the ordering thread) with my idiot dealer.

Thanks to an Internet tip, I found a GORGEOUS 3500 600 Dually, full-toot Laramie at another dealer. Truck had been ordered as a replacement for someone's lemon Ford 6.0, but he was struggling with his Ford buyback, and couldn't take it.

Dealer wanted to get this sold, and we did the numbers.

Thirty-five mile drive home, rides like a limo. Only thing I don't like the the electric-shift transfer case...would have preferred a lever.

I'll post more later, but now I have to get my deposit back from the other dealer. Oh, and change my sig, too.

Congradulations. Glad it finally worked out for you. My dually just crossed into Kansas headed for Oregon. Have fun. You deserve it.

Thanks LHarper. I want to go drive about 100 miles in this truck, that's how excited I am. Like a kid in a candy store.

Rob -

I would post some pictures - but I do not yet own a digital camera. This truck is more fully optioned than the one I ordered, but hey, you only go round once.

Thanks John. Your day will come. With me, it was more of a dealer "didn't care" issue. Here's hoping your dealer WILL care, and get it to you ASAP when it arrives at port.

Wexman,

So glad to hear that you have good wheels finally.

I am writing from my daughters place in Syracuse, NY after a trip from CA of 3,200 in our new ride with a small utility trailer. Really enjoyed the truck even though it was long. Really like the six-speed with the 3.10 gears and Jacoba EB.

You will enjoy your truck I am sure.

Good Luck with your new ride Scott!!! But no digital camera...that bad especialy after all the pics you're gonna have to take after installing those bombs!

As for the deposit, I'm sure you'll get it back.

Best of Luck!!!

Congrats wexman. It sounds like you made out ok, and who knows, you might actually grow to like the electric shift 4x4.

But, now what do I do for my daily soap opera fix. "We're sorry to announce that "As the Wexman's World Turns" has been cancelled.

I did something interesting tonight. I went into Insight for the dealer of the vehicle I bought, and looked at it's history. Built 1/19, storage 1/21, Vera Cruz 2/27, arrived Baltimore 3/15 - only 3 days before my ordered truck. Arrived at dealer 3/17 - two days later!

What was interesting is the my new dealer has trucks sitting that arrived on 3/18 - on the same boat I'm assuming as my old ordered truck. Two were "hauled" today, but the rest sit.

So, I think there is SOME sort of issue going on down in the Port of Baltimore.
