Powerstroke is better at towing then a mighty Cummins?

It's funny, I was over at Powerstroke.org forum snooping around and came across a post that got pretty heated and was a good read. The original poster claimed the PSD/V-8 was a much better, more reliable engine then an I-6, and was much better for towing. I was impressed on how much support there was for the I-6, 5.9L, and alike. It was cool.

Here's a link if you want to join in on the fun...

Most of the Ford crowd is smart enough to know while they might have the better truck (IMO they do), they know the 5.9 is king. The Dmax crowd on the other hand

my 90 will get 9 mi. per gal. better than my sons 2k powerstroke company truck towing the same gross weight. both trucks are modified. i can drive around him at will. the ford is a nice truck but it cant hold the dodge a light to pull by. my sons personal vehicle is 04 dodge cummins powered.

personally I have always thought that the Ford was a better platform with a bad heart and the Dodge has great muscle with an OK skeleton. I could never bring myself to drive a Chevy again though!

I had powerstrokes for years.... mostly because of the trcuk not the motor.

If dodge would refine the rest of the vehicle they would outsell everyone.

My last 2 vehciels were/are Dodges. The Cummins can't be beat.

Ya knwo the commercials keep saying they are listening. However, I have yet to see one about the trucks.

The Fords interior, body design, structure etc... really is the best.

Kinda crazy Ford owns Cummins.. so I have heard.

There has been an old rumor going around for years that Ford owns Cummins. Not true. Cummins has no association with Ford. Never has. Cummins is owned by Cummins. At one time, Ford may have had an investment agreement with Cummins, but Cummins is owned by Cummins. Sorry FORD/Navistar fans.

Having both, there is no comparison. The Cummins is the better motor. However, I like the Ford ergonomics, A/C, sheetmetal, etc much better.

I agree with snoyes. I bought the dodge for the motor, not for the truck surrounding it. I have an older ford powerstroke, and if I weren't obsessed with making crazy power, I wouldn't have switched.
