Power Window Switch Operation Sporatic?

The power windows on my 04.5 2500 ram work 80% of the time then on occasion the switches will go dead and you either have to smack the fool outta them or pop off the cover and mess with it, this is the drivers side switches not passengers. When it happens none of the windows will work, is the switch bad or what? Anyone have this happening to them?

Mine just started causing me trouble also. Mine seems to be just the rear drivers window occasionally won't work. I belive mine problem is in the drivers control module that is $60 dollars to replace. The switches test fine with a ohm meter but occasionally just wont work. I bought a rear switch hoping that was the bad one as they are only $20 but that did not help. I will be ordering the $60 driver controller to see if that corrects my issue.

Well I ordered and installed the drivers switch module. The problem was gone for 2-3 days and now it is back? I am going to try and print out the wiring for this circuit so I can test the wiring connector to connector?

Anyone have any other thoughts or recomendations?

lawnmaniac883 - Are you still having the same problem?

Just to update anyone else that may have problems with window switches. My rear drivers side window stop working for the down direction. Like others it sometimes worked and other times would not. I replaced both the rear switch and the drivers module and still had intermittent trouble. I had tested wires while I had switches out and they tested good and was the main reason I purchased the replacement modules.

The problem I found was in the rear flexible boot that goes from door to pillar. There were 2 wires in that section that were cut. I think the intermittent operations probably just was luck when they were touching enough to make contact. The 2 conductors seemed to be twisted different than all of the other wires and is why I think they broke from flexing back and forth.

Solder, heat shrink and back together and again my windows are working.

Hope this will help others with similar problems.

Jeff
