Cool Power window problem

My 03 has power windows that all operate from the drivers side, but will not operate at the individual doors...WINDOW LOCK BUTTON HAS BEEN PRESSED TO UNLOCK OTHER WINDOWS, and they still don't work. Then all of a sudden the next time you try they work....any advice...as to where to look.

Check wires inbetween the drivers door and cab. Next time ,try to open any other door window, while trying, open and close the drivers door. Checking to see if window , stops or starts working. If the window stops or starts, while opening and closing drivers door. Then it should be in the wiring, between the door and cab??

Mine does the same thing except it's only the front passenger window. Will check it out tomorrow.

I remember seeing that problem on an 03 a couple years ago. It ended up being a splice in a harness running under the carpeting that was all corroded. Sorry, it's been so long I don't remember any details, but I believe it was the same as your problem.

I can always get mine fixed by giving the drivers arm rest on the door a good pound. Serious!! It works for me but here are a couple of the posts on it that torquefan was talking about (if you want to fix it right). Someday I will look at my yellow wire.

My 04 just did this. I popped the drivers side switch assembly out hoping to maybe see a connection had come loose, but no luck. Mine was kind of icky looking like the previous owner had spilled something in it. I tried to open it up but could not. There were three screws to remove it from the bezel, then 6 screws to open the body, that still wouldn't open. After removing all of them, I used a small screwdriver to slightly open the case and I washed it out with a contact cleaner spray I get from a local electronics store.

I put the screws back in, snaped it all back in place. Works like a champ now. Might be worth a try.

Yeah. Sounds like some people have trouble with just the switch and for others (like me) its something further down with the wiring. I thought it was the switch at first and had pulled the switch unit out and cleaned every thing but later I decided that when I pulled the switch assy out, it was actually moving the wiring further down, making it work. Im pretty sure I have the corroded wire splice problem that one of those threads discusses.
