Poer Door Lock Not working - 2005 Ram
The left rear power door lock has stopped working on my 2005 Ram 3500. The door will not lock/unlock with the drivers button or key FOB. Took it to the dealer they indicated that the actuator is not getting any power. They said that the "power harness" (not sure if that was the right term) needed replaced.
Cost for parts and labor was quoted at $975.
Does this sound right? Is there any other way to repait something like this without replacing the whole assemly. I was thinking it would more likely to be a bad wire or bad actuator.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thx

My trucks right rear had the lock quit working and it was a broken wire in the accordian gromet that went from the door to the body. Spliced in some new wire and good to go.

$975??? They are smoking crack.
Doorguy may have it right....but,
You probably just need a new door lock solenoid. They cost around $40 or so at the dealer and you can replace it yourself.

Read this thread and make note of post #15 "Stew130"s comments about how to replace it.
