For the last year my passenger mirror has been wobbly as I'm driving down the road. It has now gotten to the point of when I go to adjust it from towing to not towing, it won't move up and down so I have to do that manually, only left to right works (I have electric mirrors). I bought a new mirror plate thinking that maybe the three fingers were finally getting loose but it would do the same thing (not move the same directions). So I returned the mirror. With the mirror off, the base would move in all four directions with no problem. Could the motor be wearing out in those two directions? Is there a fix so I can save money and not buy a new mirror assembly.
