Painted haedlight mod

Okay i saw a thread somewhere that detailed painting the INSIDE of the headlight on the newer model (giant flag lookin) headlights.

I want to try this with mine. specificly, take the clear lens off the black part of the main housing and color match (graphite metallic grey) all the chrome colored plastic inside and re epoxy the lens back together.

I was wondering if anyone has tried this before and if so, how it turned out. I know there are plenty of aftermarket headlights to choose from but i want something a little different then what every Joe Schmo has.

To clearify, i will keep all the chrome material INSIDE the actuall headlight and tur signal areas so they still reflect as normal, but remove the front facing surfaces.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I remember seeing his, in fact i read through it a while before i posted mine.

I was basicly asking if anyone with the older 3rd gen's has tried it. If it looked okay.

I think im gonna buy an ebay light and try it on a "spare" light to see how it turns out brefor trying on my stockers. I would just but a set from ebay but ive bought "stock" lights from there before and the lighting pattern was all off even though they looked identical to stockers.

They have "blacked out" lights on there too but i want the color matched set and as far as i see, nobody makes em

I have done it on my 03. No need to buy a spare light assembly, it is fairly straight forward. The directions in the link are fairly accurate even for the 03-05 light with the exception that they are much easier to disassemble than the 06 and up.

I would also like to see a pic of the 03 headlights. The lights look really nice on 53willys truck.
