O7 Ram 2500 Trans lines and cooler Corosion

Just a head's up for anyone who may get a Transmission cooler line leaking

Do not attempt to remove the lines at the Transmission cooler i soaked mine with penatrating oil two day's prior to attempting to remove them
The cooler and the male fittings are alluminum and the nut's that hold the line on are steel the first nut came loose very easy thats because the threads from the alluminum fitting stayed in the nut YEP! striped them right off . well at this point the cooler was no good anyway so i took the other line and heated the nut with a torch and YEP ! it brought all the Alluminum threads off with the nut also . Was tracing the coolant lines to the front of the truck to drain the Radiator Since the Drain valve on the bottom of the radiator did not work Just barly touched the line going to the power steering box and GUESS WHAT it fell off all coroded where the alluminum tube meet's the Steel nut They wanted $85.00 for that line .

Took the cooler to the dealer They want WHAT $$$$ 710.oo for the cooler that is smaller than a box of crackers and $95.oo for the line that has the rubber hose in the middle section .

The guy in parts said they have had alot of replacements on those lines and brake lines also Just a couple months out of WARRANTY Imagine that !!!!!

Talk to one of the mechanics when i was leaving he also said there is no way to get the lines off the cooler without stripping the alluminum threads off
real nice HUH !! he suggested if you are going to replace the cooler youre self try and find one at a salvage yard and ( Cut the lines to the cooler with a cut off wheel tool the use compression fittings to put it back together.

My Truck is a 2007 Ram 2500HD reg cab long bed 5.9 cummins automatic yes i do plow and salt with this truck but i keep the undercarriage very clean pressure washed after every snow event .

anyone else had this problem or maybe have another fix suggestion for the cooler .

Oh and i forgot to mention the truck has 17,000 mile on it and has already had the turbo replaced and the high pressure injector pump and it is garage kept like a baby .
