Pure BS. How do you burn up a set of BFGs in 15,000?

I had 38/15.50/18 Toyo M/t and when I sold the truck they had 45K on them, and still had tread. I also have had many friends with poor mileage on BFG's, so it is not BS. I would never buy a BFG again and I used to be a big fan until you put them on a diesel.

Here is a picture of one of the tires on my truck as of today w/56,500 miles:

All four are wearing evenly. 65psi (sidewall max) and rotate every 7,500 miles. Wearing a set of BFGs out in 15,000 miles is gross operator error and/or the tires were mounted/balanced by a monkey. My comments are not in comparison to Toyos or Nittos because I have never used either brand of tire.

Anybody try the Cooper Discoverer STT, They are an E rated M/T similar to the Toyo M/T.

Yep , had 2 sets of 37s.

The first set couldn`t be balanced due to being out-of-round (they were one of the FIRST sets out of the mold). Then I burned up $1400 on a set of Toyo A/T s that lasted around 10K miles...then I tried another set of STTs. They balanced great , were very quiet , seemed to wear good untill around 10K then started wearing pretty fast.

I`ve now got a set of Pro Comp Extreem A/T s ....we`ll see how they do.

Ive got 30,000 on a set of 285 nittos, never again. They are wearing fast and have slow leaks due to ranch driving. Hell, the stock bfg rugged trails never had slow leaks and I drove the same roads with them. They got me with price, but next time I'll just bend over and buy bfg's again.

I had Nitto's on an 01 Dodge and they were terrible, caused the truck to drift all over the road, wore way too fast and couldn't be balanced. The Toyo's I have no are hands down better although I will second some of the comments here that they wear quickly. I have 12356 miles on mine and figure they are half tread. That being said, I will go with MT's this next time and hope they last better but be glad for their performance and ability to balance and hold together. I run the 285x17x75's and believe this is an ideal size for these trucks.

toyo's

i have 325/60/18s on my 2500, they have about 47k on them and still a good bit of tread left. I do rotate them regularly and i think that is the secret, i expect to get another 15k out of them. We will see.

I've had the Nitto Terra Grapplers 20,000. Toyo Open Country M/T 35,000. Mickey Thompson ATZ 50,000. All tire were 325/60/18 on the same truck. Buying a new set of Cooper STTs tomorrow. I have had three or four sets of the Nittos just because they are the easiest out of the three to get your hands on. And when I need tire I need tires if you know what I mean I run em until there bald. All the Nittos wear out just over 20,000. Of course I liked the Mickey Thompsons the best. Would have bought them everytime but there always seems to be about a 2 week wait on them.

I really like the Nitto's, and will keep using them because they work very well in the snow on my pickup and there isn't many choices in the 305 70 17 size. My complaint about them is that the tread wear varies so much with them. I have personally seen anywhere from 20k to almost 80k on the terra grapplers. I need new ones right now with about 35k on them which I am happy with considering what they go through on my truck.

I have a set of Nitto on my 2nd Gen, I payed 111 each for 265/75/16 E rated. They have been good, they offer great snow and ice traction, and the truck is mostly driven by my dad in the winter as he is a emergency snowplow driver for the state of MN. Currently the tires have 22k on them, and they have never been rotated, the rears show alittle more wear then the fronts, I would say I can get about 10-15k more out of them.

the open country at doesnt do well when its gets cold. the tire stiffens right up. doesnt clean itself well, and has no grip on wet snow or ice.

the nitto is soft enough that itd be a great winter tire, but i wouldnt let it touch warm pavement.
the one set i had burned off in half the time of a set of toyo m55s.
though the daily driver that had the nittos is obsessed with them and flatly refuses to consider another tire. which could be taken as favourable for that tire.
