Nitto Terra Grappler Long term/hi mileage, happy?

I am thinking about going with the 295/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I put on lots of highway miles, but have to get through the prairie dog towns in Montana and go Elk Hunting here in Colorado too. How many miles are you guys getting out of these things? How do you like them long term? TIA

I've got about 30k on mine and still have about 1/2-1/4 of the tread left on them.

I've got about 11k on mine so far and they still look new. Traction seems better than average in all conditions. I was having trouble sliding my truck around on damp grass.:D Two thumbs up so far.

One word of caution, they don't like sand very much. They are alright in mud and great on wet and dry ground. I've gotta work to slide my truck around the corner.

I do not get into sand too often here in the Rockies. Mostly Rain, Snow, Mud, and 95% pavement. Just looking for an all around tire that will help me a little off road when I need it. Mileage is a concern though as I drive 40,000 plus a year.

I have had 4 sets on other trucks and if they made a 315 17 they would be on my 05! They make the BFG on and off road seem like a really dated design that does not perform well. I have no choice but to use the BFG which give me fits off road. The last truck that I had them on (dealer already had them on and would not take them off) went thru 2 tires in 3 months due to sidewall damage. Never had that problem with the MTR's or the Terrra Grabbers. Went to the Terra Grabbers because of the on road ride and almost no noise.

Are you running these on stock rims?

Thanks,

I can't comment about hi milage with these but I went with the 295's about 2K ago and am thrilled with them. Great traction and little to no road noise. If they last 40k that would be super. The stock BFG 265's had to go!

What about mileage??? Has anyone seen a drastic decrease running the 295 terra grapplers?
