New truck opinions
I made mistake and sold my 07 5.9 and now need to find another 5.9. Here are 3 I am seriously looking at.
Found 3 possible trucks.
1. 2004 Quad Cab with nv 4500 and 21,000 miles From California Black and silver
2. 2004.5 quad cab with the nv 5600 and 47,000
3. 2007 quad cab with an auto and 47,000 miles
All are 5.9's and are unmolested. All are 4x4. All are stock. All 3 are close in price and are 1 owner truck. The nv4500 has a 4.10 in the rear and the rest are 3.73's.
Let me know what you guys think.

I think it matters how you want to use the truck? If you are staying stock and want a good mileage vehicle then 2004(b4 most emmisions crap).
If you are looking to tune the truck up and do not mind removing some restrictive exhaust devices the I would try the 2007 so you can give EFI a try as it sounds impressive with making trucks strong and with very good street/towing manners..

Jp-4.5, what kind of MPG's are you getting out of your 04.5? Mine will be used for daily driving and towing my boat to camp and a utility trailer with firewood and towing snowmobiles evry once and awhile.
I average 18.x with mixed around town/highway.. If I make a long trip my best is 21.x with mostly highway. I like the truck but have spent some $$ over the years replacing parts and upgrading as needed. The truck was my daily driver from 2004-2010 and then I purchased a VW TDI for my daily driver and now truck sits during the week most of the time. Use it for Home Depot runs and recreation on the weekends. 4x4 on the beach.. mountain and road biking.. Do not really have much of a need for the truck anymore but it is paid for and will keep it until it not worth keeping.
My decision would be between 2004.5 and 2007... I had wanted the stick in my 2004.5 but the wife wanted the auto in case she drove the truck.. Cost alot more $$ to make the auto solid than it would to make the stick hold some additional power. I really like the auto once it was modified. I cannot speak for the 2007 auto but believe it would have to be better than my auto was stock.. If you are not looking to add much for power it really matters wether you want an auto or stick?
I would go with the 2007 and see what EFI can do for a basic tune to gain some power/mileage.
What was your old 2007? Did you like the truck? You are the only one that will be able to make this decision and I wish the best of luck no matter what you choose..

Well the 04.5 stick had a deposit on it. The 07 stick had 60,000 miles on it and had mods done to it. Dealer also wanted 34,000 for it too...... In the mean time my local dealer with some help from me found a 06 quad cab short bed with 26,000 miles on it and one older owner. It's an auto but much less expensive than what most are charging for 5.9 sticks. I can live with the Auto and then the wife can drive it. My delaer is going after the 06 and hopefully will have it by the middle of this week. Anyone know what an EFI tune costs and if there is someone in the Pittsburgh Pa area that does it. I just want MPG and am happy with stock power. Pete
