New Truck

Well i finally converted over to a third gen. Traded my 2nd gen this morning for this 2005 QC,4x4,Auto, Off-road package. With 96K miles. I already have some questions.
1. It seems when i am really light on the throttle from a dead stop the shift pattern is like 1-3-2-3 I have read about it before but forgot what exactly it is called and what causes it and how to fix it.

2. What are some simple mods to start out with ? i am already looking at the combo deal with the S&B filter and intake manifold.

3. Do these have a silencer ring ? If it does and i take it off how much louder is it ?

4. What is a good programmer besides a smarty for these ? How about a Edge j/a ?

5. What is the baseline numbers for these trucks bone stock ?

Well that is all i can think of now, glad to be apart of the third gen club now.

1. It's called the "shift shuttle".

2. Before making any mods, what do you plan to do with the truck?

3. Don't know

4. Again, what is your goal?

5. Don't know

Is there a TSB or something for the shift shuttle ?

I am looking for around 450-500 hp when all is said and done. About how much can the 48RE handle ? This is my daily driver. I am already looking at gauges, air filters, exhaust, fuel delivery and a box/programmer. Is it true you only need CAT back and not full turbo back ? Truck is still under 100k so i think i am going to take it to a dealer and have them fix a possible front crank seal oil leak and see if they can do something about the "shift shuttle"

Also the truck has a build date of 10-04 so technically this makes it an 05 correct ? Do these have the intank fuel pump ? would i be alright with just a FP100 and would i have to mod the canister ?

Are the 05 trucks 600 lb ft or 610 lb ft

I also have a GPS that mounts on the windshield. Does anybody have any pictures of how they routed the cable ?

The stock tranny is engineered to the minimum cost/HP rating Dodge can get away with. With the HP you are targeting you gotta do some work on your tranny pronto. Get some gages then do your tranny. Then start working your motor. Intake, tuner "SMARTY" , then think about fuel delivery, sticks etc. I bet some folks would talk about a new turbo to but I think you can add 150 HP easy with your stock turbo with what I have mentioned.

Thanks for the reply. I have been looking around i think im going to do stuff in this order intake and exhaust at the same time then gauges, then programmer then fuel delivery. then hopefully i can get on the rollers to see where i am at then go from there.

I did a search but i can not find a straight answer. What causes the 3-2-3 shuffle ? It is a solenoid correct ? is it easy to change. I can tell this tranny shifts ten times better than the 47RE i used to have, i dont have to lift off the go pedal just before the torque converter locks up.

Not too sure if this is your trans problem but here is a good read to fix it if it is.
