Thanks for the compliments guys! This is what we did yesterday...REALLY good time. I have NO clue why my Chevy buddy ('03 2x4 gasser) insists on taking his truck along on all these excursions, but I almost had to pull him UP a really nasty, REALLY long, fairly narrow, REALLY rocky mountain yesterday. We were almost at the end, thank God, but we didn't know that...so we continued down and got him out the back way...reckon some people just never learn. Oh yeah, by the way...somebody on here said the other day that a 2x4 gasser pickup with good tires would out perform ANY 4x4 diesel offroad...I have a proposition for that fella...he should bring that vehicle on this trail we were on. I have a video (I have to get if from my buddy) of us doing a hill climb that was VERY steep, VERY rocky, had DEEP ditches and I don't believe that there is a physical POSSIBILITY of a 2x4 of ANY kind making it up this pass. My truck, however got up it easier than the Rubicon that you all see pictured, believe it or not

ANY time that ANYBODY out here in the SoCal area (or ANYWHERE for that matter if they feel like making the drive) wants to go offroading, just let me know. I'll go out with ya'll and show ya a few good trails! It's a GREAT time! The ONLY thing that I dislike about it is the day AFTERWARDS when you need that few hours of alone time with your truck to clean it. I must have had a half inch of dust on my dash!

Derek,
Might be worth a call to Heath at RECON and get his smoked third brake light and new smoked taillights (and cab markers too!)!! Your truck looks shark....smoke out the lights and it will completely rock!

This is NOT meant to turn this into a RECON thread.....hope others will follow.

Well, there are a FEW things up with those ones! 1.) I am in the Navy and am FROM VA, so I claim my original residence still. 2.) Registration for TWO YEARS costed me $91 bucks in VA (out here it is WAAAAY higher than that for just ONE year) 3.) I don't have emissions in VA! I can do whatever I want where I live and be legal!

I have been checking out the RECON stuff for a while. I also want their cab lights! Just have to get the go ahead from the little lady!

No worries!! I've been in the Navy, married to the Navy and supplying the Navy long enough to put 2 and 2 together.

Shane (from the site here) has help RECON put a complete install kit together for the cab lights.

I am sure I speak for everyone when I say that we look forward to updated images of youe smoked out ride!

Have fun out there and be careful!
