Now that makes more sense. So I guess I am changing the oil just slghtly sooner then required...at about 6200 miles.
I can live with that.

Okay after looking at my maintenance book a little closer there is a funny little cross symbol by the oil change at 3750 intervals. That is for California only so looks like they are still on the 7500 mile interval . It is a new book though and the Dealer actually told me 3750. Guess it was the salesman so I will give him a call and get it strait. Im sure its the same as always. I will still change it at around 4-5K

Instead of the salesman, I would check with the service manager and point out that page in the manual, then see what he says. I have usually gotten good replies from DC online for those kinds of questions as well. Enjoy the new truck.

Just got a new 03 3500 DRW with 5.9HO and the new maintenance schedule which you are suppose to have signed and recorded for warranty by a dealer when you do the mainenance requires Oil and Filter every 3750 miles for most of us if we pull or dive normal. My first 03 2500 slt 5.9HO said every 7500 miles, but they have changed that according to my dealer. I think to comply with warranty they are now sticking to 3750 interval for B use which most of us fall into.[/quote]

Actually, Schedule B for the '03 trucks has the oil changes every 7,500 miles...unless you're in California, in which case it's every 3,750 miles. Schedule A, which basically nobody can use, has them every 15,000 miles. I change the oil myself, per Schedule B, and keep good records.....and I'm not the least bit worried about my warranty being denied because of it. They can't deny your warranty because you didn't bring the truck to them for regular maintenance.

ON EDIT:
NOTE TO SELF: Read all of the replies before making your own....that way you don't look like an idiot. ::)

Re:New member/New truck

Last night I took a look at the oil schedule. Did not read it very closely, but I though it said the 3750 was for any driving condition that it listed. Just about everything. The 7500 if you do not do one of the following. It was like drive less than 10 miles a trip, idle long, high speed highway, towing, hauling, dusty, and a few more I think.

I did get a deal that they change the oil free for so many changes. My wife's liberty, that we bought a week early is for 7yrs/70,000 miles ;D. They mentioned sending me a coupon book with the amount of free changes/coupons that I get. I bet it won't be for 70,000 miles.

Good Day!
Just bought a big, beautiful 4x4 HO Cummins LB! I LOVE it. I just wish I knew why they list my rear axle as a 11.5?! I was expecting something I could relate to like 4.10, etc. Any thoughts?

11.5 is your axle size. 4.10 is your gearing in the axle. 2 different things.

Hmmm,
Axle size, okay. But why bother? Doesn't the axle ratio tell all?
