nwew here. just want to get started. i have had 4 dodge diesels so far. a 95 reg cab 4x4 5 sp. used it to tow a gooseneck with a 17000# dozer on it. worked quite well. next was a 98 dooley auto. a big disappointment. couldnt handle the load the 95 did. then a 01 qc 4x4 6sp. ran well with no problems except lift pump failure. put an in line pump at the tank and solved the problem. currently have a 05 qc 4x4 6sp. all stock. 65000mi and only problem was a rear u-joint. tow gooseneck over 20k# regularly with no problems. read about all the mods people put on the trucks and wonder how they think the truck will last any time when pushed beyond design limits. the b series in med duty trucks is limited to 600-700 tq for a reason. cooling and longivity. i am a fan of srw. if the tires can handle the load there should be no benefit of drw. just extra tires to buy. otr truckers are even going to super singles. i probably will not be getting a new truck because i chrysler is developing a poor record and i have never been a ford fan. gm uses a japanese engine which i wont have. just my little quirk. so thats me.
