Anyone tired these tires?

 

I've got the one on the right. I "tried them out" by cutting the corner on a wet day coming out of the parking lot at work. They cut so deep that they trew so much crud across the back drive, it looked like someone had dug up the cement and refilled with mud. I wasn't sure some of the littler cars were going to get across it. Of course I almost needed another hernia surgery from laughing so hard.

So far they seem to be wearing pretty well. I have the ticket where they were bought by the previous owner so I might check to see how many miles are on them. My brother got a Nissan 4x4 about 6 years ago and it came with a set and he's still got plenty of meat left.

I ususlly only run Michilen but I will most likely replace them with the same. I really like the look of them. I'll see if I can add a pic of whitey to my profile.

 

Ihave a 06 as well Discount tire was going to seel me the MTs for cheaper then the A-Ts in a 285 put the M-Ts next to the truck and was sure tempted but ended up going with the A-Ts I dont do to much off-roading in the truck and thought they would be real loud and wear fast.5000 miles on the A-ts and they seem to be wearing real fast on the rear just rotated guess I need to keep my foot off the go pedal and drive like a ganpa or somthing.

I've got the ones on the right, in 305 size. I have 34,000 miles on them right now. I run the fronts at 55 lbs, and the rear at 50 empty and 70 loaded. Max pressure is 65 (I know).

I just measured and I have 10/32nds left on the tread. If I figure to swap them when they get down to 4/32nds (wear bars are at 2/32nds) that means I am halfway through the life of the tire.

They are quiet, smooth and get good traction. If you run the fronts lower on air like you should (going by BFG's loading table) you may get death wobble.

I will not get BFG's for my next set. I want more of a road tire for a couple of reasons:
1. These trucks are not off-road vehicles. I have had mine buried to the axles where a lighter truck walks right by. The 4400 pound nose is tough to push through mud!
2. I want more mileage! With my Smarty Jr. on economy, I can get 24 mpg. I bet with road tires I'll get 26!!!! Of course around town I get about 20. Maybe that will go up a bit.
3. I'd like to get more miles out of a tire. I think I'll get 60,000 out of these, but a good road tire should get 80,000. At a couple hundred bucks a tire, that's significant.

But I love the look of the BFG's and I recommend them. They serve me well.

 

On my 99, I had a set of 245 Michilens that had 90k on them with maybe 5K or so left. I just like the look of the KO's on my truck right now.

Here is my choice, I got a killer deal on mine which helped make up my mind but they are not load on the rd for a tire that aggressive. Wearing good so far but also not many miles on them yet. Hook great on dry pavement and offroad. Wet pavement not as good as a AT tire but ok.

 

I had the BFG AT's in 285/70/17.......great tires. Got 50K and prob still had 10K left on them.


I am now running the BFG KM2 MTs in 35s. Again....great tire. Wearing well. I have about 26K on them now....and should get 50K easy at this rate of wear.

My only complaint is the load rating. Otherwise both sets are great tires, imo.

Dude. JP. I think i got the same wheels too! Metal Ice something maybe? They were on mine when i got it.

 

Running a set of KM2's in a 305/65/17 E, very grippy tire, dry and wet traction is great, they run good in soft sand aired down to 16 psi, don't see much mud and haven't had them in the snow....yet. Slightly more quiet than the older style BFG mud T/A, have about 10k on them and still look new.

 

I just got the KM2's on Tuesday. I love these tires! I got the 285/70/17 size and I think they are perfect for what I do. I will try to post some pics this weekend.

 

the only tire i buy are the bf goodrich ta/ko"s. i consistently get 55,000 miles out of them. ( they are a 50,000 miles rated tire)

 

They are 17" Moto Metal 951's on mine. I wasn't sure I liked them at first but like them alot better once i went to 35's

Where are you located in Greensboro? I live in Browns Summit. I would love to see those tires in person if possible. Are you running a a leveling kit only?
