New adjustable track bar... steering now way off!

My steering wheel has been cocked slightly to the right while driving and I know I need an alignment. I just installed Thuren's adjustable track bar and got the axle aligned almost perfect. Before it was close to an inch toward the driver side. Took her out for a spin. My steering wheel is now WAY off. Twelve o'clock position of the wheel is now at close to three o'clock! Holy cow!... I assume this is perfectly normal. I did an adjustable on a friends truck before but I don't remember how bad his steering wheel was off if at all. Anyone else have the same predicament? Going to get an alignment later this week.

mine was the same way after installing the track bar. i just followed the recommendations on this forum on how to correct the steering wheel position by adjusting the turn buckle on the tie rod. i turned it counter clockwise about 4 turns(?)

The alingment itself won't fix it. They have to adjust like the drag link or something. They did it for me free but had to ask.

X2, as long as the axle is centered under the truck, just re-align the steering wheel by adjusting the sleeve and getting the wheel back straight...
I drove around for a year after I put the lift on my old truck before I took the 2minutes to make the wheel straight, made me feel pretty lazy I didnt do it before

Cool guys... thanks for the info... alignment getting done Saturday... going to install the new front end steering setup Friday. The alignment guys wanted $275 just to install the stuff plus the alignment for $90. I figured I'd ask em because since they'd be under the truck already thought it'd be cheaper. I'll get my hands dirty to save almost 3 bills...

Wow. I only pay $50 for an alignment. Mine was off too after I lengthened the stock track bar.

Ntb is 100 for 1 year and 149 for three years n you can get an alignment every time you feel that it may need it, no questions asked.

I didn't think $90 was too bad... especially living in a big city... things tend to be more money round these parts.. As soon as I find someone to buy my house I will finally be out of this communist state. I'm sure I would find it less money in Indiana where I'm headed.

I feel lucky. I just paid about what they are quoting you for the alignment for the installation & alignment. I think you will like the new setup. I know I do.
