Mounting CB RADIO/Antenna

I can't find a functional place to mount my CB radio. Any suggestions/pics? I don't like it on top of the dash or down by my right knee.

I was thinking maybe between the flip down cup holder and underseat storage compartment.

OK, try this on for size. Buy yourself the Cobra one hander and then mount it thru the dash like I did. That way when it's not in use you can store it in the underseat compartment.

Oh yeah you may won't to mount the antenna with the old model dodge antenna mount on the drivers side.

Here is some pictures of a CB mount I made for the Ghost Rider.

If you want the best performance for an antenna, mount it in the center of the roof. I highly recommend the Wilson 5000 roof mount!

The hardest thing was convincing myself to drill a 7/8" hole in the roof. I would definately do it again.

Thanks Big Bob for the awesome photos. That's exactly what I had in mind as far as fabricating some sort of mounting bracket. I have a smaller Uniden radio which isn't as big as yours, but it has served me well over the years.

With my 6-spd truck I wanted to do something similar. I pulled apart the lower dash adjacent to the ash tray and removed it too.
I measured for an angle fit there and well...it protruded just a bit too much at the top for the shifter and I would have to fab an ABS case for it too. I had the leather surface abs, just no time to do it presently.
I have a Wilson on a fender mount, tuned with a tweaked Cobra 29. I put the Cobra in the bottom center storage and put a remote spkr down by the drivers seat. Its not to tough to get to and on most stretches of road I am only using one channel anyway. I have the radio mounted on about a 40 degree angle so I can access the controls easily.

I also stow my inverter and emergency broadcast battery operated radio in there.

The only glitch I am resolving today is I mounted my remote speaker on the side of the plastic for the center console area.
When anyone moves the seat forward more then a couple of inches...it gets in the way...so I am putting it over in the center area on the console.

You might want to look at some pedistal mounts like the one's here...
