Contact their regional service manager.

Dude I had the same problem, the pass side battery blew and they had to replace the battery, pcm, alternator, and who knows what else. All covered by warranty. Read my sig:o

Edit: Not your dealer, sorry a dealer in Washington state. But my Canadian dealer went in after and cleaned up the mess under warranty. Also they replaced my entire front end with aftermarket parts when my truck started wandering all over the road. Great dealership (Willie dodge)

I wasn't there at the time but just by your comments, if you went into the dealership with the same attitude you showed in your post I can understand why they may have given you the answer they did. In my experience once you mod your truck, the only thing that you have is your relationship with the service manager and service writers--the ones that usually make the desision on whether your vehicle is repaired under warranty or not.

I wasn't there either but I'd be willing to bet that all was good until the goof ball gave him the whole line about the lift causing the battery to blow up. I can tell ya right now I would have lost my mind right there on the spot! Hell I got mad just reading about it! I mean really, it's like saying that after market wheels made the radio quit working.....Absolutely absurd, especially if the lift was dealer installed. I hate dealerships!

Look,

So I find out I have cancer in my leg, (35 years old) and I drive down to Washington state from canada (us navy) to see the cancer doc. On the way down my 45,000 dollar truck decides to blow a battery. So I pull into a auto parts store (using the tom tom) and change the battery hoping it is just that, not a battery. So I change it in the parking lot of the auto zone, getting acid all over my arms, and when I start it up, the **** thing doesn't charge and I barely make it to a crappy hotel with ladies of the night in the parking lot when I take my dogs out because of a problem with a 45,000 dollar truck. My truck is lifted, and whenever that has something to do with a battery blowing and a charging system being dicked (which it was read my earlier post) I will accept the responsibility and pay what I need to. Sorry for the rant.
Jim

Perhaps if the dealers would treat us with some respect (and some do) we would reciprocate..just don't blow smoke at us ..

I agree--sometimes the decisions of dealerships are questionable at best. My point is that if you go anywhere "looking" for trouble your going to find it. If you present your problem in a decient professional way and then the dealership makes some sort of stupid decision then you have every right to question that decision, but the "rant" that was presented in no way helped his position---IMO. Sometimes we learn a lot more by listening instead of talking----

hivoltage 10-01-2008 05:54 PM

I'm not trying to start a war but it seems like you've jumped to the conclusion that he went in there looking for trouble and you reached this decision by reading a post.
You are right, sometimes you can learn more by listening than speaking.

Well funny my rant was well met by a good dealer (read earlier post).

I'm not going to argue about this but if this infact happened the way he said it did---"I threw him a bag of weed and said here smoke some of this" he's lucky someone didn't call the cops! I have mods on my truck and have never had a problem with the service department because I believe i act like an adult and try to present my problems in a professional way. If they say no and I believe they are wrong I try to discuss it with them till we come to an agreement. Sometimes I win--sometimes they do--MOST times you are treated the way you act.
