Mopar Oil Filter upgrade

Does mopar have an upgraded oil filter similar to the stratapor that a dealer would carry?

Why not just call the dealer and find out.

I know most people use the stratapore but how are the OEM ones? I contaced someone and if I read his email right seems to me like he is willing to sell me 2 cases (24 filters) for about $85. He said $35 per case plus $13 for shipping. I mean that works out to be around $3.50 per filter and thats a heck of a deal considering I end up changing my oil sometimes once every 2 weeks on a busy week...Oh and they are actual Mopar oil filters for the Cummins.

I've been using the mopars for the last 40k with no problems.

I am asking because I took my truck to the dealer for oil change and they said there is only one Mopar filter available. If I am not mistaken this is comparable to the lower end fleetguard. I am asking if there is a Mopar version of the stratapore fleetguard filter that has been rebadged into a Mopar filter that the dealer should be carrying that I can have them use when doing my oil changes?

No there is only one mopar and it is a standard fleetguard. If you want the statapore you'll have to get the fleetguard.

Next time whay not take your own oil filter with you and have them install it? I know I do it that way along with my oil.

I have a package that includes oil, filter, and lube so it would just be extra cost to me.

Well he quoted me for gasser oil filters new price shipped for 2 cases would be $152 but I guess still not bad at around $6.50 a filter.

Have you thought about doing extended changes with a bypass filter, syn oil and analysis? It was that frequent changing that made me go that way. The bypass will make the fullflow last much longer and the program even worked out cheaper for me because I caught a great Oilgaurd sale. I did it for convenience and later crunched the numbers and found it was actually cheaper. Craig
