Loose driver's seat?

Is anyone's front/driver's seat loose? Mine rocks with a thunk whenever I stop and then start. Seems to be getting worse; I gotta take it in. Just wondering if this is a one off problem or others have had the same thing.

Mine does it too, not with an audible thunk, but I can definitely feel it shifting backwards when accellerating from a stop. I don't feel any slop when coming to a stop, just when I'm getting going.

Mentioned it to the dealer on a recent visit (TSB related), they claimed they checked it out, and compared to other trucks on the lot, their official diagnosis was that it's "normal", and "within tolerance".

Since it doesn't do it all the time, and since it's pretty minor, I'm not going to worry about it too much, but if it gets any worse I'll look into it further.

My '02 1500 did that brand new, but I hate the dealers so much I lived with it. I had to put the seat in just the right spot so it would not clunk. Try lowering the height a bit. The '03 does not do it, and I bought it used. Go figure

mine does this as well. I feel a small click under the seat. It does not seem loose but I can rock it front to back just a little. I just learned to live with it. The dealer does not have a clue when asked about it.

Mine does it, I even tried lowering or raising the seat in case I was maxed out travelwise one way or the other. I had leather added to mine upon purchase and figured when they took the seats out something was left loose. I'm still gonna have someone sit in it and see if I can figure where the play is because it bugs me.

I know there was a TSB for that in the 02 3rd gens. They have to replace the power seat tracks on both sides. I took my old (02) truck in with about 7000 miles on it and they told me it was normal. Then I had to throw the TSB in their face.

Mine shifts about 1/4 inch or so. On top of that, neither will adjust. I need to take them both out and work on them.

Does anyone know of any comfortable replacement seats that fit? I need something with a lumbar support.

Are all of you "large"??? A.K.A. "Fat Bodies?" Just kidding!!!! This was a problem on a friends '97. Just looked under the seat, tightened every bolt we could see and then it was gone. Two or three of the bolts under there, we could tighten a bit. Hope this helps

I guess I have to qualify for the Wide body class. Mine did not start until about 20k. Does this TSB appy to the 03's?

My truck does it also. My dealer looked at it last week and said there is nothing they can do considering brand new trucks out on the lot do the same thing.

mine does this too, allways did. I have learned to live with it, but now the seat is bothering me with the bars that i feel in my legs. I hate this seat. I wish it would just break, so i was forced to replace it. I am thinking about going to the local upolstery(sp) shop and having them add some foam or something
