2005 5.9 Left rear passanger door lock and passenger seat.

#1.....Left rear door lock does not work with the remote. Will not go up or down. Replaced the lock mechanism and no change. A report states to take the instrument cluster and cross to wires to see if the door lock works. I guess this is because at 15 mph the locks go down. If this works, the instrument cluster is bad. Any one had an issue like this? Cost?

#2.....Passenger seat has lost up and down motion and tilt adjustment. Looks like the only fix is to replace the entire electric seat tracking with the motor. ? ?? Dealer wants $570.00 for the tracking.

#1 Does it work from the drivers control switch?

#2 So it still goes forward and backwards? You can buy just the motors. My driver up/down just quit. I'll try to find the site that sells the motors and report back here.

Unless someone else beats me to it!

#1---door lock is completely dead from all switches. Reading some threads here, sounds like a wire in the door might be broken.

#2----Seat goes forward and back. Up and down when depressing the switch it just makes a noise like it is trying to move. No tilt as well.

Yeah I'm willing to bet it is broken wires in the rubber boot.

I can't find that darn place that sells the seat motors individually. I'll keep looking.

My door wires did the same thing. Looked to me like it was caused by the wire looping down into the folds of the boot and after a few hundred door cycles, it broke. When I fixed it, I covered the wires with some plastic split loom. Kind of a tight fit but no more broken wires. Yet.

As far as the electric seat is concerned, there are two ways to remedy this common issue. One is to replace the seat base/ track assembly equipped with new motors through the dealer. The other is to replace the individual motors by purchasing them from 2 men 1 garage. I have attached a link for your review.
