LED Hyperflash 3Gen

OK, so I installed complete LED rear lights and installed the resistor in paralell with the turn signal wire. Blinks correctly 4 times then hyperflash, same with or without resistor and with or without LED front running/turn bulbs. I used a VOM to get the correct wire for the turn signal and installed a 60 Ohm 5W in paralell with ground. Each rear setup uses 4 banks of LEDs. Factory wired so all 4 are on for running, upper-outer is turn. The only time resistor gets hot is when running lights are on.

Any clues where I'm screwing up?

Thanks

P.S. XRF ***** are trashed after 15,000 miles of highway driving. New set on the way if anyone is interested. Went Moog with lifetine warrantee on parts AND labor!

Bump!

Really, no one has installed LED rear lights and had the hyper-flash issue?

I will possibly purchase a set of Recon LED tail lights but wish to avoid the problems you are having. What brand did you purchase? I hope someone comes to your aid.

I have the Recon taillights in my 06 2500. I also had the hyperflash problem. I went back to the outfit I bought them from and they installed resistors but I don't know the size. I read somewhere these lights have the required resistance built in just for this problem, but then resistors have to be added later.....hmmmm. anyway. Double check the ground off the new resistor to the bed, clean paint, scratch whatever. Also look at your ground cables at batterys for corrosion. Good luck!

Maybe here is a fix.... If you bought the Recon LED tail lights they have a part for you to stop the hyperlight problem.

To and to this thread I bought the Recon LED tail lights and it would flash normal 5 times and then hyper flash. Contacted Recon and they said it has a resistor already in so it shouldn't do that. I bought the resistors from the link I put up anyhow. Hooked up to the positive side of the turn light and then to ground on the chassis ... works great!
