Mine did it too and the dealer replaced it no problem under warranty. Since then, I have made sure I use my gloves when I fuel up and it has not happened again.

I'm gonna go with the sweat thing for my problems. I sweat a lot in my line of work, and everything that I wear that is metal is rusted. Even chrome/brass rusts with me.

I made a cover on the top 1/5 of the wheel for mine, but I'm going to do another one that takes up the top section from the the cruise control buttons.

That's bull.

I've had leather interiors for the last 15 years and not 1 had any issues. Some had over 100K miles.

I'm also very careful with my truck. I don't use it for construction so it stays VERY clean inside. I also use gloves when I fuel up.

I have the leather wrap steering wheel with the Big Horn Package and have not had any problems with mine in over 39,000 miles. I have driven with grease and fuel covered hands along with gloves soaked in #1 Diesel. I used the Turtle Wax's F21 Super Protectant on my dash and steering wheel.

Are all you guys stressed out about something and white knuckling the steering wheel?

Shawn
I think it may be the crap loads of torque that the CTD puts out makin' us white knuckle....just a thought

It's not bull. I have seen it happen time and time again with no reason. The best preventive I have found is to keep it parked in a garage or under a carport otherwise it will happen. Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Nissan, and the list goes on......... I hate it with a purple passion.

i've just had a cover on mine since it was new so that i don't have to worry about it. i've got 32k on mine and a $15 mossy oak cover from wal mart is still holding up. better than destroying your steering wheel
