Instrument & dash lights
Just bought an 03 3500. Drove it tonight and found that I had very dim lights in left side of cluster and from the middle off the cluster over I have no lights. No lights around HVAC controls either. Id like an idea before I tear into it. It wouldnt bother me but I cant see the speedometer

You can pick up bulbs at the dealer for 1-2 bucks each depending on how they want to charge you that day. Pick up 1/2 doz or so and replace what you need. Before you start, turn on your lights, dim the cluster lights to the dimmest, then turn the lights back off. Pulling the cluster is pretty straight forward, removing the trim around the radio/vent and the left vent trim, two screws pointing straight up at the top of the cluster and two screws at the bottom corners pointing forward.
When you pull the cluster out, there are two harnesses attached to the back on a short lead. Put your small hands in there and unlock and disconnect the harnesses. Pull out the cluster and set it on your lap.
The bulbs come out with a 1/4 turn. Replace what you need and plug it back in. Turn the lights on then turn the dimmer up to full (not fast the first time) and see how you did. Putting it together is straight forward too.
Back to morning brew. . .
