I installed '07 taillights on an '06 truck

So I thought this would be a 10 min job. Wrong. They have different wiring harnesses at the light and use different grommets where the lights snap to the rear fenders. I made adapters for the wiring of the brake/parking lights and put amber bulbs in the clear reverse light locations for turn signals. I already have hi power back up lights under the bumper so I wont miss the reverse lights and I personally like amber turnsignals. The lights came with the new size mounting grommets and the holes were already in the fenders. The lights also came with bulbs and sockets and ran $37.50 each. I wouldn't recommend this job for anyone not handy at wiring.

I swapped some 06 style led tails into my 07 and ran into this problem. Really aggravating finding which wire tied into where but I finally got it working then after a few weeks decided I liked the 07 tails after all so back in they went!

I just traded a buddy of mine for his 06 brake lights. He had to have the 07's that I despise of and I wanted his 06's. The 07 trucks basically are more or less wired like a trailers. They have one bulb on the top and one bulb on the bottom. Reverse on the bottom and Turn/Brake on the top. When we wired the 06 brake lights on my 07 we had to wire it so both top and bottom light lights flash. So when you turn the turn signal on both the brake and turn signal bulbs flash instead of just the top on a 06. The 06 truck we put my 07 brake lights on was another story. We had everything hooked up perfectly but when it came down to testing it everything worked perfectly but then we were testing eveything and the left side would work right. He was either not going to have a brake light or a turn signal if we wired it like that and the right side would work perfectly. The technition that was working on it for us couldnt find any way to get them to work correctly without wiring his brake lights off the trailer light plug. His lights flash like crazy since the truck thinks theres not brake lights back there anymore. Is there anyway to wire my 07 truck with the 06 brake lights so they work just like a 06 truck. So the top flashes when the turn signal is on and the bottom is the brake instead of having them both flashing at the same time.

**Please note that the 2007 Dodge Ram Tail Light Wiring is different. The 2007 Dodge Ram has two connectors instead of 1 like the 2003-2006. Please email us for installation instructions: installinstructions@reconaccessories.com
