On my '05 the wipers would occasionally cycle once when I opened the driver's door. Go figure. Then, suddenly, the intermittent wipers wouldn't work at all. I tested the resistance (ohms) on each multi-function switch setting per the factory service manual. Each setting tested within the specified ohms range, except for the "off" setting. My multi-meter was not sensitive enough to read resistance that high and assumed it was infinite.

Regardless, I bought a new switch on ebay for USD$45 as the only bidder after waiting a week for the auction to time out (Dodge dealer wanted $100). Now, all the multi-function switch functions are back to normal, and I haven't had the wipers cycle when I open the door.

One has to wonder at the all the data and related logic circulating around in the can-bus network. That baby must be the prototype for the "Matrix."

I wish I'd seen this post earlier about cleaning the contacts, et al. It might have saved me $45. I saw those torx screws as i tossed the old switch into the dust bin and I should have dug into it further for a possible repair.
