How large a spare?
Will anything but a stock 265 tire fit up under the truck? Would love to be able to fit a 35" tire, but I'm sure the room isn't there. Not around the truck to check and just curious.

I'd like to know as well since I finally leveled the front end, I think I need bigger tires now.

Yeah, I can't see anything bigger than a 285 fittin' under there.
I lost my spare a long time ago to save weight and the fact that it won't do me any good with 315's anyway.
Plus I've never had a flat in the 12 years I've been driving...

This was when I ran BFG 315 ATs on stock 17x8 wheels, they are really about 34.5" diameter. The 315 was a tight fit, but might be room for another 1/2 inch but not much more. If you have changed the exhaust or rear diff cover that could also be a problem.
What I did was.... I went to a good old boy tire store, and asked for a 315 (35) that was a take off that still had a decent amount of tread left... 35 bucks, and that's what I got.
Well the spare wheel under the truck is a 17" rim, correct? What's the problem with yanking it down, pulling off the rubber that's on it (that 265 Michelin LTX) and putting a 35" tire with 60-70% tread on it and stick it back up under there. I didn't buy a fifth 20" wheel. Would there be that big of a problem with running three wheels with 20"s and one with 17" as long as the tires are the same size? Maybe a weight difference I guess?

Yeah, it's a 17" rim...
You would probably be fine if you put it on the front and didn't run it in 4x4.
Unless they are the same exact height as the 20's you got.
I could be wrong about that, but I know you don't want two different size diameter rims/tires on the same drive axle, though.
