How to: install old center console with lower cubby hole in Mega Cab
we REALLY liked the bottom cubby hole in our center console, we kept "junk" in there, like cell phone chargers, air gauges,
stuff that you don't need often, but usually need when you are out of town.
seems like the 06 dash is just tiny, can't get anything in there.
and we put all our daily stuff in the top of the center console.

there are SIGNIFICANT differences in the bottom of the Mega console to allow the air ducting to fit, the rear must be massaged to fit the old cloth on the new frame.
note the rear tabs on the 05 seats had to be cut off.
uh, you should do that BEFORE you mount them in the truck.
note the black krylon on the 05 chair frames, looks much better than the rusty OEM look.
hth someone?

post of a pic of the inside of it. would be nice to have a smooth bottom in there, that's all it would be, few inches shallower than a Quad cab due AC vents and whatever that black box is.
gonna put a peice of foam in bottom of mine when get energetic.
mine was a very early 06, maybe they did later on in the model year.
a lot of the "work" trucks do not have the bottom cubby hole, and the top armrest does not open up either, from talking to folks with work trucks.
painting the "feet" of the seat mounts looks awesome, hard to believe how nice that looks when in the back seat.

an earlier model console bottom
follow that link, you can use your existing top lid (match interior color) with an old model bottom cover (cloth) and bottom lid
you have to cut the rear of the new base so that the old style cloth can have places to snap over and connect.
i had to drill new holes to mount the air vents on the rear, i could not find the stock holes once it was back in the truck.
it's a LOT of work, but i have already got mine full of junk. it's worth it.
a 1/4 inch drive ratchet will let you take the console out by itself, 13mm.
